Many times, I wondered how would this work long-term. I knew I wanted more flexibility without sacrificing my lifestyle and in addition to the drive of my work, there were some other dreams that I wanted to pursue in the near future. In other words, outside of my title and paycheck, I wanted to empower myself on another level. When I say "empower", I meant igniting myself beyond the status quo of getting my degree, getting a job, and bringing home the bacon. I was seeking more; more life fulfillment in what I was doing everyday outside of the week-in and week-out grind of climbing the corporate ladder. I wanted more freedom and flexibility and honestly, I wanted less stress.I love the challenge of my corporate work and the satisfaction that it brings, but I was grinding day-in and day-out and a lot of times not receiving the recognition for the work that I had done and was doing. So, when the Mary Kay opportunity knocked on my door, I was a bit skeptical; not a makeup user, but a Mary Kay skin care fan for several years, I was only looking for some makeup options for my wedding. Fast forward a year later, I was meeting with a corporate colleague to learn that she was a Mary Kay Director. That's when the inquiry began to learn more about the women of Mary Kay and whether or not this so called business opportunity was real or a scam.In my pursuit of the truth, what I learned was that there were many professional women just like me working full-time and building their Mary Kay business as a "Plan B". Some had replaced their income and others were sprinkling Mary Kay in with their normal, already busy life.
